International Lesbian Day

September 23rd marks the 28th year of Bi Visibility Day — a global day of celebration for the bisexual community and a moment to confront the erasure and biphobia bi+ people face year-round. Dallas Hope Charities is hosting a gathering to mark the occasion and build community with other bi and bi+ folks.

National Coming Out Day (October 11) honors the anniversary of the 1987 March on Washington for Lesbian and Gay Rights and the activists who founded this day in 1988. At Dallas Hope Charities, we gather to reflect on what coming out means today — acknowledging both its history as an act of visibility and resistance, and the real conversations happening now about safety, pressure, and what liberation looks like for all of us. A space to honor the complexity of our community's journey.

This annual day of remembrance brings people together to reflect on Matthew's story, celebrate the work of the Matthew Shepard Foundation in eliminating hate crimes, and reaffirm our commitment to dignity and equality for all people.
