Freaky Fridays

The Castro's longest-running drag show, held weekly at The Edge. Expect rotating weekly themes, theatrical performances, creative costumes, and camp-fueled drag energy that keeps this Thursday night institution fresh and unpredictable. Follow The Edge on Facebook for each week's theme.

A Castro happy-hour tradition: pianist and singer Dee Spencer takes over the bar at Beaux with live piano and vocals every Thursday, pulling requests from her extensive songbook and inviting guests to sing along. No cover charge, a Buy One Get One drink special, and a rare chance to actually hear yourself think (or sing) during cocktail hour.

Dee's Keys Piano Bar is cutting happy hour short to host a live viewing of the San Francisco congressional debate — the critical matchup between City Supervisor Connie Chan and State Senator Scott Wiener as they lay out their visions for the city's future just before ballots arrive for the November election. The debate airs 7:30–9pm with full sound, exploring affordability, tech, immigration, and San Francisco's role in national politics. First 10 people through the door get a free drink, and there's no cover charge.

San Francisco's longest-running underwear party keeps Thursday nights at Powerhouse exactly as they should be — minimal clothes, maximum cruising, and a dance floor that doesn't quit. Underwear drink specials, free coat check, and rotating go-go dancers set the mood, while a crew of longtime hosts keeps the energy up all night. Raw, unapologetic, and true to the leather district's roots — this is the real deal for anyone looking to dance, cruise, and connect.

San Francisco's sweatiest sports fetish dance party, every Thursday night at Beaux. Expect gogo oil wrestling all night long, towel boys slinging shots, and a packed dance floor of jocks in singlets, sneakers, and short shorts. DJ AKI (with occasional guest sets from DJ Juanita More!) keeps the energy high with sports fetish visuals and beats. Two-for-one drinks from 9–11pm and no cover charge all night — the post-gym reset the Castro has been waiting for. Happens every Thursday except the 4th.

Freshie takes the stage at Aunt Charlie's for a night of drag that's unapologetic and electric. This is the kind of show that reminds you why the Tenderloin's most legendary dive bar has been a queer institution for decades — intimate, raw, and completely unpretentious. $5 cover, cash only, and worth every penny.
