A lively 1.5-hour walking tour through Adams Morgan's layered past—from Indigenous life and colonial conquest to slavery, segregation, and gentrification. Eddie Becker, a documentarian and investigative archivist, traces how these forces shaped the neighborhood's streets and how residents have organized for dignity and belonging. The tour also explores Adams Morgan's role as a refuge and crossroads for liberation movements and political exile communities from Central America, Chile, and Eritrea. About three-quarters of a mile at an easy pace. Free.

You'll start at the historic Howard Theater and end at Thurst Lounge, DC's first queer Black-owned bar—a fitting destination for a tour that reclaims and celebrates the marginalized histories that shaped this neighborhood.
