Atlanta's queer community has a way of making you feel at home the moment you arrive — it's a city where the LGBTQ+ scene has real depth and history, where people actually stick around and build something lasting instead of just passing through. The energy here comes from decades of folks who decided to plant roots, open businesses, mentor younger queers, and create spaces that feel like they belong to everyone, not just the people with the loudest voices.

The venues scattered across the city each have their own personality: Mixx Atlanta draws a packed dance floor with rotating drag performers and a crowd that knows how to move, while Friends on Ponce has become the kind of neighborhood bar where regulars actually know each other's names and stories. Whether you're looking for the theatrical energy of Lips Drag Queen Show Palace, the laid-back park-adjacent vibe of Blake's On The Park, or the upscale crowd at X Midtown, there's a real sense that these spaces were built by people who actually care about what happens inside them.

Atlanta Pride's kickoff celebration transforms the Georgia Aquarium into an underwater dreamscape of shimmering lights, ethereal décor, and pulsing music—all set against thousands of mesmerizing aquatic creatures. It's the kind of night that sets the tone for the season: connection, celebration, and pure euphoric energy with thousands of people who get it.

2026 Pride Kickoff

Start your Pride weekend grounded and present — an all-levels yoga class on the dock at Piedmont Park, led by the Well(Being) Collective Atlanta. Bring your mat and join a community moment before the festivities kick off. Saturday, October 10th at 9:00 AM at Dockside (behind the visitor center by the 12th Street gate).

Pride Yoga

A safe, intentional space during Atlanta Pride Festival for people in recovery to gather and find mutual support. Open to all paths of recovery—whether you're early in your journey or well established. Happening on the Greystone Patio from noon to 2pm, offered in partnership with Danielle Bonanno Consulting.

The Trans community takes the streets during Atlanta Pride's most powerful march. Meet at Charles Allen & 10th Street inside Piedmont Park at 1:15 PM to march alongside trans and nonbinary people, allies, and community organizations. Bring signs, banners, and your presence—this is about visibility, equity, and celebrating the beauty and resilience of trans folks. Atlanta Pride keeps these spaces safe and inclusive for everyone.

The bi+ and pan community's moment to march with pride at Atlanta Pride. Meet at Charles Allen & 10th Street inside Piedmont Park's gate to celebrate bisexual and pansexual identities and affirm their place within the LGBTQ+ family. Bring signs and banners—all gender identities, expressions, and allies welcome.

Atlanta's biggest Pride celebration takes over Midtown on Sunday, October 11th—nearly 300 groups and 5,000 marchers stepping off at noon from Civic Center MARTA, making their way north on Peachtree Street before ending at Piedmont Park. Over 100,000 people line the streets for this four-hour event that's equal parts spectacle and community. Streets close for the full route; public transit is your best bet. Bring your friends, your loudest cheers, and your whole self.

Atlanta Pride transforms the city into a massive celebration of visibility and joy — the kind of event where entire neighborhoods fill with music, art, and thousands of people just being exactly who they are. It's both a festival and a statement, with stages, vendors, performances, and a parade that's become one of the Southeast's biggest annual gatherings. Whether you're here to dance, connect, or just soak in the energy of a community at full throttle, there's room for everyone.
