Open Streets Roslindale: TQNC Meetup Hub

Mental Health Services

The second session in a free virtual mini-lecture series unpacking mental health through a queer lens. This week's topic: Debunking Boundaries. Led by Whitney Polick (MSW, LICSW), it's designed for queer and trans community members seeking deeper self-awareness, plus professionals and allies building trauma-informed, queer-inclusive spaces. Drop in for this single topic or join the full series.

Mental Health Services

Part two of TQNC's workshop series diving into mental health and sexual wellness for LGBTQ+ folks. This 90-minute session brings together community members and experts to explore topics that matter — practical, honest, and grounded in lived experience. Wednesday evenings, 6:00 PM.

Community Focused

A powerful documentary screening and community conversation centered on intersex experiences. "Every Body" follows three intersex individuals reclaiming their stories after childhoods marked by shame and non-consensual medical intervention. After the film, intersex activist and medical sociologist Esther Leidolf—founder of the Jamaica Plain MRKH Organization—leads a discussion drawing on themes from the documentary and insights from their book, "Not Uncommon, Just Unheard Of." This is a chance to listen, learn, and show up for the intersex community.

Trans

A half-day conference in Boston made by and for trans and gender-expansive people, digging into how lived experience shapes the way you lead and care for your community. Expect speakers, interactive workshops, community partner resources and plenty of networking, with coffee and lunch on the house. It runs 10 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, October 28, 2026 at The Pryde Community Center on Harvard Avenue, and you'll leave with a room full of new people who get it.

Community Focused

TQNC's monthly sewing skillshare brings together people of all experience levels — from never-touched-a-machine to seasoned sewers — in a space that centers LGBTQIA+ voices. Bring a project (that top you've been meaning to crop, pants to hem, or an elaborate Halloween costume) or come with nothing but excitement to learn. Experienced sewing guides will be there to teach and answer questions, and TQNC provides basic machines and supplies, though you may share a machine and a sewing buddy. All skill levels, all identities, all welcome.

Community Organization

A free two-part virtual series from The People's Coalition at The Queer Neighborhood Council in Boston, digging into the roots of queer resistance. Part I, Before Stonewall, is Monday, November 9th, 6–7:30pm, and Part II, After Stonewall, is Tuesday, December 1st, 6–7:30pm. You'll share your own experiences, trace the historical fight for queer liberation, and leave with a clearer sense of what our community needs and the start of a collective ready to organize. Each session stands alone, though attending both is encouraged.
