Rainbow Family Storytime at the Denver Public Library

Rainbow Alley is heading to the Chatfield Farms Corn Maze for a free day out, and it's open to LGBTQ+ folks ages 13 to 24. Meet at The Center on Colfax at 9:00 AM for the free shuttle down to Chatfield, then get lost in the maze together. The shuttle returns to The Center for pickup at 1:30 PM, so you'll need your own way to and from The Center.

Drag Shows

The Schule of Drag is a two-weekend intergenerational workshop at The Center on Colfax in Denver for people who've never tried drag, or only tried it once for Halloween. You'll learn storytelling, stage presence, movement, makeup and costume, then strut your stuff at the Final Showcase on October 25th. It's 21+ only, and the first session kicks off Saturday, October 17th from 10 AM to 3 PM.

Support Groups

A peer-led support group for queer and transgender people going through a divorce or recently divorced, meeting at The Center on Colfax in Denver. It's a space to talk through the specific challenges divorce brings for queer folks, with people who get it. Third Saturdays, 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, and you must be 18 or older. Questions go to Joy Iwancio, Director of Transgender Services.

Community Center

Colorado's queer past gets a regional lens in this two-part lecture from the Colorado LGBTQ History Project at The Center on Colfax in Denver. Part 1 covers Pre-Columbian LGBTQ history across Mexico and the Rocky Mountain region, through the colonial period and into the post-Mexican-American War era. Part 2 picks up from 1860 to 2000, zeroing in on Denver and how the contemporary LGBTQ community took shape in Colorado's largest city. The lecture runs noon to 1 PM, followed by an education workshop from 1 to 2 PM, and educational resources will be made available.

Support Groups

The Center on Colfax runs this in-person, peer-led support group for adults who identify as transgender or gender diverse, in Denver. It's a safe, drop-in space with peer-run social support, real conversation and useful resources, and it's always free with no signup, so walk-ins are welcome. Third and fourth Saturdays, 12:30 to 2:00 PM. You must be 18 or older to attend.

Recovery

Narcotics Anonymous is a weekly recovery meeting hosted by The Phoenix at the Annex Building on Champa Street in Denver, with sessions every Tuesday from 7:00 to 8:00 PM and every Saturday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM. It's a welcoming space to share, listen and connect with others working on recovery from addiction. Walk in, take a seat, and you'll find people who've been where you are.
