Oldway Sessions

Trans

BCPC's monthly swim night creates a safe, affirming space for trans and gender non-conforming folks to connect and swim as their authentic selves. The evening splits into two parts: a social hour inside the community center (7–8pm) followed by an hour in the pool with the facility closed to public visitors. All gender changing rooms are available, and you're welcome to wear whatever swimwear feels right. RSVP required.

Trans

HEAT's annual Transgender Wellness Retreat brings together trans, nonbinary, and gender-nonconforming folks ages 13-29 for a full day of connection, empowerment, and exploration. Workshops cover transitioning, makeup, mental health, and more—designed to build meaningful relationships with trans peers, strengthen resilience, and access resources in a genuinely welcoming space. Registration required.

Support Groups

Unchained is a healing space for Caribbean LGBTQ+ immigrants to build community, celebrate cultural pride, and foster personal empowerment. Through intergenerational dialogue, members find support around coming out, family dynamics, relationships, sexual fluidity, and overall wellness. A decade-long initiative by the Caribbean Equality Project, Unchained welcomes those navigating identity, family acceptance, and recovery from discrimination and trauma.

Community Focused

A weekly pickup basketball night built for lesbians, queer, trans, and nonbinary folks to shoot around, play, and build community on and off the court. Nobody keeps score here; the point is working on your game while getting to know the people you're playing with. The gym holds up to 25 people, so RSVP ahead through the link, and newcomers are welcome to drop in and get walked through sign-up for future weeks.

Trans

A twice-monthly in-person support group for transgender and non-binary adults, led by MDiv/MSW candidate Daniel-José. This is a sacred space held exclusively for trans and gender non-conforming folks to connect, share, and support one another. Meets the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month at the Brooklyn Community Pride Center.
